Blue Babble prepares for UAAP Cheerdance Competition

QUEZON CITY, Philippines -- The Ateneo Blue Babble Cheerdancers is halfway done through making their 6-minute routine for the University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Cheerdance Competition.
The UAAP Cheerdance Competition is an annual event wherein each school's cheerleading team showcases their flair in dancing and stunts for school spirit. This year's competition will be held on September 9.
Blue Babble Cheerdancers Captain Baba Escueta is confident with the team's ability.
"Babble has improved a lot from last year," Escueta said. "We're doing more pyramids and gymnastics for this competition. We're confident with our routine so the Ateneo community could expect a great performance from us."
The team trains six times a week to prepare for the upcoming event. Although this may seem hard, Escueta said that the training is lighter for this year.
"We've already done some routines during half-times that we're using for the competition so it's easier for us," she said.
To give them more time to rehearse their routine, the Blue Babble line-up for the competition will not be seen during the half-time performances of the second round of the UAAP Men's Basketball, except during big games in Araneta.
The team will be performing last on the competition, and they are expecting full support from the Ateneo community.
